In the past days a treaty that took years to agree on has been decided by the United States, Japan, Mexico and other 9 countries that are part of it. This trade was being discussed in secret for most of the negotiation period, but the things that are know in some countries and around the public where leaks from the time Wikileaks existed.
The Trans Pacific Partnership has not been accepted in such a positive way by neither of the parties or the running candidates of the presidency. One of the most significant public rejections has been the one of the democratic candidate Hilary Clinton. The claim that this trade will not be a good deal for the U.S. is what has the candidates in rejection. What is true is that the deal it is not a good deal for the countries. This is because having the opportunity to have the view of the American public by living here at the moment and looking into detail how this trade will affect my home country too. By doing this comparison I agree that this deal should not be signed by any of the countries.
Starting to get some facts about how this trade will affect the different countries, the one that most got my attention how the countries will need to rewrite their ownership laws , if signed, by adapting the laws to what the treaty says about the copyrights of a picture or what ever has ownership to another company or individual. This is will give less freedom to the users of the internet, which is mostly the majority in the populations in the 12 countries who want to sign. There are various groups of people around the 12 countries that are sharing the information known about the trade to help the public to understand why their country should not sign this. It is thought that because the trade comes from the United States it will be good to sign.
People in the US don’t want this trade to take place either. Because they know this trade will not have a positive effect. President Obama administration made the achievement to agree with this countries, but I find it hard he will make this trade to be accepted by the Congress or the public in general. To make this trade more appealing to the American public the president needs to change some of the deals he wants to achieve. Instead of reducing the jobs and make the income inequality greater, the trade will need to actually help the American public produce a greater income or more sales within their markets. Other problem that the trade will present if it’s approved, is that the drug prices will increase which it will make the chances of getting them more difficult, and the mortality rate will rise because people won’t get their treatments. Instead of making the drugs unreachable President Obama should make a better health care program for the nation.
I know that by changing this policies the agreement between the countries might change, but if the trade doesn’t give an actual benefit to the country why would a head of state sign or agree with it. I will encourage the public of the participant countries to inform themselves about what the treaty really implies for their countries .
