Morroco Earthquake Kills More Than 2,000 People

A 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck near the Moroccan city of Marrakech leaving more than 2000 dead and another 1000 more injured. Marrakech is home to more than 840,000 people and is popular amongst tourists. The Earthquake's epicenter was 44.7 miles away from the city, yet it has left the city in ruin. Offers of relief aid have been sent by Japan, France, and the United Arab Emirates. Although high magnitude earthquakes are possible in Morocco, they have not experienced one of this size since 2004 in the city of Al Hoceima. Residents now wait anxiously with the possibility of follow up tremors.
