Biden signed a historic deal with Vietnam. It is being called a Comprehensive strategic partnership that is said to be bringing former enemies closer. This is seen as a major relationship upgrade for the United States who wants this partnership so that they can generate economic growth and stability for the US while also seeing China succeed but as Biden says, “by the rules.” Biden wants this partnership to maintain stability while remaining in agreement with the international rules in place. This relationship will help counter China’s influence in Asia in a way that will benefit the United States. It is also the US denying cold war with China in what is seen as a historic Vietnam visit.
