China has agreed to find common ground for safe and responsible artificial intelligence development

China's vice minister of technology spoke at the U.K.'s AI safety summit, saying that China would is open to communication and discussion with other countries, including the United States, about finding a common ground to agree on for Artificial Intelligence development. This comes as China and the United States have had lots of tension in regards to technology and shared communication between the two countries. This step by China shows their shared interest with many other countries to progress artificial intelligence in responsible ways so that mankind can see a new world in all countries. Michelle Donelan, the U.K. science, innovation, and technology minister commented on China's statement saying that it was a "massive" gesture from China to attend the summit. She also compared the situation of artificial intelligence to the situation with climate change, saying that when countries are working together, more gets done regarding these situations, but when all countries act on their own and in independent ways, not much gets done and sometimes makes situations worse. The UK has been attempting to bring all the involved nations together to find this common ground, but there has been a struggle with the United States and China since the US accused China of national security risks in regards to its artificial intelligence. Although, this comment from China has shown progress towards a more unified stance on AI, but only time will tell how much progress these countries make.
