Debates for the 2024 race have already begun but Donald Trump has been seen skipping many of them. He already has a massive presence as a Republican candite surpassing his other competitors in nearly every poll. In a survey, republicans supported trump 62% of the time which is higher than the 52% in August. Some experts say he is acting more like an incumbent rather than a candidate trying to replace the incumbent. What makes it more interesting is the fact that he was a former President and not a current one. He seems to rely on his former tactic of pulling attention away from other topics by doing something more interesting. One way he is doing this is by bringing up the 2020 election he lost and continues to claim it was a “stolen” election. Other Republicans candidates continue to try to take jabs at trump to gain attention. This strategy is unprecedented and could potentially shake up the primaries as well set an example for the future.
