On Saturday a Lion had escaped from a circus in the Italian town of Landispoli near Rome. After 10pm on Saturday the lion had been captured after being on the loose for at least 5 hours. Many volunteers were used to help catch the lion including the state police, carabinieri, the fire department, the local and provincial police and the Asl (Local health authority) and volunteers. They realized the lion had escaped when the found a broken lock and people saw three people running away from the lion cage which led authorities to believe that the escape was due to sabotage. Upon realizing that the lion had escaped authorities advised residents to stay home and remain vigilant. They were able to catch the lion by finding, sedating it and then bringing it back to the enclosure.
