Following United States President Joe Biden's meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, he has kept his stance about Xi Jinping regarding him as a dictator. The two presidents met in San Francisco earlier in the month for the first time in over a year to help better the relationship between the two countries. The meeting had reportedly gone well with the two leaders making progress in the situation. Although, these comments by president Biden could damage some of the progress made during the meeting. Biden was asked about his comments earlier in the year about Xi Jinping, which he backed up saying, "He's a dictator in the sense that he's a guy who runs a country that is a communist country that's based on a form of government totally different from ours." This comment has left a bad taste in Chinese officials mouths since progress between the two countries has been made and this feels like an insult of the Chinese government. A spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs came out and said that there are constant attempts to damage the relationship between the United States and China, but they will not allow this to happen. With Biden's comments coming so soon after progress happening, there is no telling how much this will hurt the relationship between the two powerful countries and if this will halt any attempts at getting rid of the tense communications between the countries and making the relationship stronger going into the future.
