On Thursday, The U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs warned of a flood event that statistically occurs only once in 100 years in Somalia. Floods have been devastating Somalia since October. 500,000 people have been displaced due to floods, and 1.6 million people could be disrupted by floods by the end of the rainy season. These floods have killed at least 31 people so far. the OCHA said that the flood that is likely to occur cannot be prevented, only mitigated. Humanitarian aid is greatly needed.
