In Beirut, Iran’s foreign minister warns war could spread if Israeli bombardment of Gaza continues
Fernando Abans
Once again, we have encountered the world under a new
moment of great tension and conflict in the Middle East. An attack from
terrorist group Hamas last weekend started war between Israel and Palestina, as
the attacks are not only centred on Hamas objectives, but it is affecting the
whole Palestinian population. The attack from Hamas has been responded by
mobilizing troops to get under control those cities affected by the
intromission of Hamas terrorists in southern cities of Israel. However, Israel
has condemned this attack and is right now responding with harsh actions such
as cutting of supplies and electricity in Gaza, only leaving 24h for civilians
to exit after five days of nonstop attacks on the region. Even though most of
the western leaders have shown support to Israel’s government, in the Middle
East the situation is different, with attacks from Lebanon terrorist group
Hezbollah, and even attacks to Syrian airports after missiles sent by the
Syrian regime. The words of Iran’s foreign minister show how the situation is
pretty different in the Middle East, where allies of Palestinian civilians and
even Hamas group are warning Israel that this war cannot become a “winning by
all costs” one, leaving space to protection of Palestinian civilians. In case
the situation continues, and the tension arises with the neighbour countries, a
bigger conflict could arise according to Iranian authorities.
